Special Skills
Master Voice Teacher John Nicholas Peters has been teaching voice in Philadelphia since 1984 and studying vocal technique in Europe and the United States since 1974. During this time he personally studied with numerous teachers, distilled their techniques and thoroughly researched and developed a method of training the voice which involves strengthening the specific muscles which control the entire vocal system while simultaneously eliminating unnecessary muscular involvement. This method is highly effective and extremely efficient. As evident in the 'Students Speak Out' section of his web site, many students who studied for years with other teachers have said that they felt they had made a year's worth of progress in the first month of lessons. Himself a former musical theater actor and stage director, John is uniquely qualified to fulfill all the needs of theatrical performers, whether requiring vocal technique training, audition preparation or mastering song presentation/interpretation. John's specialties include training singers specifically for musical theater, expanding and strengthening the female chest range, building a marketable singing voice completely from scratch for actors/dancers and improving professional singer's voices far beyond what is generally considered possible. Each lesson is recorded with digital quality onto a CD for the student to use for practicing. Stop buying into the myth that you need to waste your time and money traveling up to New York for lessons and get the world-class training you need here in Philadelphia!

Training
B.A. in Voice Teaching from The Birmingham Conservatoire, Birmingham, England, Master of Music Degree from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia.
