Actors Net Inc. presents World Premiere of Roebling: The Story of the Brooklyn Bridge For Immediate Release: August 31, 2009
ROEBLING: THE STORY OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE - Mark L. Violi's historical drama about Trenton's Roebling Family and their fight against all odds to build the Brooklyn Bridge enjoys its world premiere as the Actors' NET of Bucks County launches its 14th season at the Heritage Center in Morrisville. Inspired by actual events, Violi's play reveals the behind the scenes machinations - how Washington Roebling and his wife, Emily, battled sabotage and corruption to fulfill John Roebling's dream of erecting the iconic suspension bridge. Actors' NET Artistic Director Cheryl Doyle directs Chuck Donnelly of Levittown as Washington Roebling, Kyla Marie Mostello of Levittown as Emily Roebling and James Cordingley of Lawrenceville, NJ as family patriarch John Roebling. Ed Patton of Fairless Hills costars as Haldis Dickey, a Roebling rival who would stop at nothing to win the construction project for his own company. The show also features more than a dozen supporting players. Produced and stage managed by Vincent Pileggi. Set and costume design by Cheryl Doyle. Lighting design by Andrena Wishnie. Produced by special arrangement with the playwright. DATE: September 25 - October 11, 2009, twelve performances only. TIME: All three weeks, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. (Please note all Sunday performances will now be 2 p.m. matinees.)
