FAIRY TALES GET FRACTURED AT FAMILY FRIENDLY FRINGE SHOW

For Immediate Release: August 3, 2009
Media Contact: Michelle Pauls, B. Someday Productions, 215.427.9255

B. Someday Productions of Kensington/Fishtown announces its first Family Friendly show for the Philly Fringe Festival: FRACTURED FAIRY TALES. It's a fast-paced, madcap, interactive live performance for kids and adults happening at the Walking Fish Theatre in September during the Philly Fringe Festival. The actors take on several of our favorite fairy tales, turn them on their heads, add some crazy costumes, zany staging and audience interaction! With lots of local color and people we love to skewer. These aren't your grandma's fairy tales, but bring grandma anyway! Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or through the Fringe Festival Box Office: 215-413-1318, 5th & Fairmount Streets in Northern Liberties.

Dates for FRACTURED FAIRY TALES are: Saturday, September 5, 12, 19 @ 12:00noon and Sunday, September 6, 13 @ 2:00pm. The running time of the show is 45 minutes. All performers also helped write the script. Adult actors are Asaki Kumura (Cloud Techtonics, Philly Fringe) and Mike Smith (Family Theatre Series). The young actors are Lena Kelsall, 8 (of Fishtown) and Michael Trainor, 11 (of Port Richmond). Directed by Michelle Pauls, Managing Artistic Director of B. Someday Productions. The audience may take smaller roles in some bits such as Snow White and the Several Dwarves when they sing their audition piece for Philadelphia Idol.

The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe runs from September 4 - September 19, 2009. The Festival Box Office will open for phone [(215) 413-1318] and walk up sales [at the Hub, 5th & Fairmount Streets, Philadelphia] on August 24th. You may also purchase tickets online, at www.livearts-fringe.org. Festival Guides, which include dates, times, and venues for all performances for both Festivals, will be available mid-August at all Festival venues, and other locations throughout the city.

The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe was originally founded in 1997 as the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Today, the Live Arts Festival serves as a series of selected cutting-edge, boundary-breaking performing arts events, created by some of the most renowned contemporary artists from our region and around the world.

The Fringe serves as a collective home for artists bringing their work to audiences in every conceivable form - in traditional and untraditional venues, using new artistic forms and established ones, breaking rules or refining them.
