The Media Theatre was awarded Main Line Today Magazine's "Best Children's Series" honor for 2009. "This prestigious mention solidifies our reputation as one of Philadelphia's most popular theatres dedicated to excellent productions," stated The Media Theatre's Artistic Director Jesse Cline. The "Best" honor was announced in the magazine's annual Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs issue.

The 2009-2010 "Best" Children's Series at The Media Theatre will include "Narnia" in October. "Narnia" is a musical based on the popular children's book by C.S. Lewis. In the musical for youth, a unique enchanted world is filled with creatures and spirits of myth and fable, both good and evil. The principal inhabitants are the intelligent talking animals ruled by the lion king Aslan, who is often absent but returns when necessary. Four children enter Narnia, plucked from our world, and learn lessons of courage, unselfishness, and wisdom. Throughout the story, adventure abounds and songs include "You Can't Imagine" and "Aslan's On The Move". This musical plays at The Media Theatre weekends in October.

In December, the popular and fun musical "Ebenezer" returns for a second season. "Ebenezer" is based on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and presents the story in a contemporary style, with upbeat songs, humor, and serious scenes which combine to teach the lesson of having a good heart. For all ages, "Ebenezer" plays weekends in December.

Other youth titles of The Media Theatre's Award Winning Children's Series include "The Emperor's New Clothes", Disney's "Mulan" and Disney's "Beauty and The Beast" in 2010.

All of the youth productions at The Media Theatre have several professional adult performers and an ensemble of over 35 young actors from its Theatre School.
