Glengarry Glen Ross By David Mamet Extended By Popular Demand Through May 20, 2007 at Christ Church Neighborhood House

For Immediate Release: May 4, 2007
Media Contact: Bryan S. Clark, Theatre Exile, 215.922.4462

Theatre Exile’s smash hit production of GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS has been extended through May 20th due to popular demand.

Critics and audiences alike are full of praise for GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. The Philadelphia Inquirer writes “Theatre Exile’s terrific revival reaffirms the play’s power.” “I’ve never seen the world of Glengarry seem so real” says Citypaper. “Theatre Exile’s crackling version proves there’s still a lot of life in Glengarry yet,” writes Talkin’ Broadway.

David Mamet’s 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning play explores the seamy underbelly of cutthroat real estate deals, sales contests and corporate desperation from the back office to the booths of a lowbrow Chinese restaurant in “language that makes Glengarry really zing” (City Paper). GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS is “very funny and very sad and reaches to the utmost despair in Calvin Coolidge’s slogan, “The business of America is business” (Philadelphia Inquirer).

Director Matt Pfeiffer, Theatre Exile’s Associate Artistic Director, “establishes just the right pace and rhythm” (Philadelphia Inquirer) with a “dream cast” (AOL Tonight) of Philadelphia talent. William Zielinski is “slick, greasy, and brilliant” (AOL Tonight) as the “glamorously reptilian Richard Roma” (Citypaper).. Harry Philibosian is “heartbreaking” (Philadelphia Inquirer) as Shelly “The Machine” Levene, “capturing the desperation that drives him and radiating joy when he makes a sale” (Talkin’ Broadway). H. Michael Walls, “will make you squirm” (AOL) as David Moss and Exile’s Producing Artistic Director offers “strong work” as “nervous co-worker” George Aaronow. As despised office manager John Williamson, Dan Hodge’s “rigid restraint is dangerous…his ‘go to lunch’ scene superb” (Philadelphia Inquirer). Brian McCann as James Lingk and Bill Rahill as Detective Baylen round out a terrific ensemble with “an enormous sense of connection” (Citypaper). It all plays out against Matt Saunder’s “clever” (City Paper) sets which make “impressive use of…Christ Church Neighborhood House” (Talkin’ Broadway).
