Luna Theater Company Announces: Unwrap Your Candy

Luna Theater Company opens their fifth season with the Philadelphia premiere of Unwrap Your Candy: An Evening of One-Act Plays by 2005 Tony Award Winner, Doug Wright. Unwrap Your Candy will be performed at the Walnut Street Theatre’s Studio 5 located at 825 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, previews Oct 18th and 19th , opens Friday October 20th and runs through November 12, 2006. Story Summary
Unwrap Your Candy delivers a delectable evening guaranteed to keep you awake for nights on end. Consisting of four bedtime tales for adults - spine-tinglers for the twenty-first century - the collected one-acts are guaranteed to jolt the senses and stimulate the mind. Inspired in equal parts by Alfred Hitchcock, Roald Dahl and The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the plays examine the dangers of being a child, the terror of being an adult and even the perils of being an unsuspecting audience member.

About the Playwright
DOUG WRIGHT (Playwright) won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for his most recent Broadway hit, I AM MY OWN WIFE. He also won an Obie Award for outstanding achievement in playwriting for his play QUILLS. He went on to write the screenplay adaptation, making his motion picture debut. The film was named Best Picture by the National Board of Review and nominated for three Academy Awards. Doug’s stage work has been produced at New York Theatre Workshop, Lincoln Center, WPA Theater, Geffen Playhouse, Wilma Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, McCarter Theater and La Jolla. Titles include The Stonewater Rapture, Interrogating the Nude and Watbanaland. He’s a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Writers Guild of America, East and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.

About the Producing Artistic Director
Gregory Scott Campbell is Founder and Producing Artistic Director of the Luna Theater Company. Previously with the Luna, Gregory performed in The Zoo Story, Oleanna, No Exit and Waiting for Godot. He has also directed DMV Tyrant, Do Not Feed the Animal, The Flip of It, Fool for Love, The Turn of the Screw, Burn This and Yes, Mamet. Gregory is the original founder of the Spark 10 Minute Play Festival, is a former board member of the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia and former chair of the Spark Small Theatre Committee.

About the Featured Actor
Kirsten Quinn (Ms. Haviland/Ensemble) is the Artistic Director of the Eternal Spiral Project (ESP), a women's theatre company currently in its sixth season. Previously, Kirsten has worked for the Wilma, InterAct, ESP, Montgomery Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, City Theatre of Pittsburgh, the Fringe and many others, adding Luna to her resume this year. Favorite past roles include but are certainly not limited to “Becky Bloom” in Patty Red Pants (ESP), “Maggie” in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Pitt), “Lady MacBeth” (Shakespeare in the Schools), “Emilie” in Les Liaisons (Wilma) and “Kathleen Kennedy” in Rosemary (InterAct). Kirsten holds an M.F.A. in acting from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of Actors Equity.
