For Immediate Release: May 20, 2006
Media Contact: Rebecca Fullan, Theatre League of Philadelphia/The Merriam Theater, 215.732.5997

Theater League of Philadelphia is delighted to announce the third annual Broadway on Broad education program, which will take place Thursday and Friday, July 13 and 14, from 9 AM-5:30 PM, at the Merriam Theater. Broadway on Broad offers high school students two days of professional education in various aspects of theatrical performance. Each year, Broadway on Broad has increased the range and depth of this unique opportunity. This year, the two days of class will be cumulative, and students will attend both days.

The students will choose from six classes: Acting, Movement for Theater, Vocal Audition, Playwriting, Improvisation, and Theatrical Makeup. Each class will be taught by a dynamic theater professional with a specialty in that particular field. There will be a showcase at the end of the second day to highlight the best of what the students have learned and produced.

The total tuition for this year’s Broadway on Broad program is $100 per student. Those enrolled in Theatrical Makeup will be charged an additional $20 for materials.

Students may bring a bagged lunch or purchase for $15 both days’ lunches through the Theatre League of Philadelphia. Students should not bring perishable items as refrigeration facilities will not be available.
