The Timeless Story Songs of Harry Chapin as sung by Scott Sivakoff Set for Three Appearances at Act II Playhouse

For Immediate Release: May 5, 2006
Media Contact: Ted Taylor, Act II Playhouse, 215.576.7212

“The Timeless Story Songs of Harry Chapin” will be featured at Act II Playhouse for three Sunday appearances, May 21, June 4 and June 18. The shows begin at 7 PM and tickets cost $22 and are available at the Act II box office, 56 E. Butler Avenue in Ambler or by calling 215-654-0200.

Act II has become something of a Mecca for the legion of Chapin fans having produced two Chapin musicals, Lies and Legends and Remember when the Music, over the past six years. Both musicals played to sold out houses for their duration of their runs.

And now, from central Maryland, comes a unique singer-songwriter with a flair for performing Harry Chapin’s music. For the past fifteen years, Scott Sivakoff has been appearing in concerts featuring both Harry Chapin music and his own original material. Scott has performed internationally with original members of Harry Chapin’s band and the extended Chapin family, who value his extensive knowledge of Harry Chapin and his music.

The three special Sunday evening performances will benefit Chapin’s charity, World Hunger Year (WHY), Scott will perform “The Timeless Story Songs of Harry Chapin”. Scott’s show will include Harry Chapin standards, such as Cat’s In the Cradle, Taxi, 30,000 Pounds of Bananas, WOLD, Mr. Tanner, Circle, and Sniper, as well as rare and unreleased selections of Harry’s.

Scott has just released his debut CD of original music titled, “Different Directions”, which features Harry’s brother, Steve Chapin contributing on keyboards. In addition, Scott performs weekly over the Internet to Harry Chapin fans who log in to hear the performance and request songs.

Scott has been an active participant in working for social causes for many years. As a member of L.U.N.C.H. (Local United Network to Combat Hunger), which uses the power of popular music to produce positive social action, Scott has performed in countless benefit concerts, raising thousands of dollars to help feed the hungry.
