Carnegie Hall Coluratura In Media’s The Student Prince

For Immediate Release: February 27, 2006
Media Contact: Roger Ricker, The Media Theatre, 610.891.0100

After a five year absence, the operettas return to The Media Theatre with Sigmund Romberg’s The Student Prince March 8-April 2. “This show has one of my favorite scores,” Cline explained. “It remains one of the finest musical theatre scores of all time. The essence of The Student Prince is pure romance.”

In The Student Prince, Prince Karl Franz travels to Heidelberg to escape boredom and falls in love with Kathie, an Innkeeper’s daughter. David Hicks will appear as Prince Karl Franz, and Jenny Millsap will play Kathie.

Jenny Millsap was a National Finalist in the Classical Productions Vocal Competition at Carnegie Hall and has a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Westminster Choir College. She appeared with Hal Linden in The Pirates of Penzance at the City Center in Manhattan, and has also been seen onstage at The Fulton Opera House, Princeton Summer Theatre, and Shawnee Playhouse. Her roles include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Guenevere in Camelot.

Others in The Student Prince at The Media Theatre include Ron Remke (of Media’s Aspects of Love), Daniel Stanton (Cats and Seussical), and Arthur Ryan (Camelot). Media Theatre veteran Roger Ricker also makes an appearance. The production will be directed by Michael White (I Do, I Do). The Student Prince runs March 8-April 2 and has matinees on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2pm, Thursday evening performances at 7:30, and 8pm performances on Friday and Saturday throughout its run.
