Act II Dress Rehearsal of SYNCOPATION Open as a Community Fundraiser on March 9 For Immediate Release: February 20, 2006 Act II Playhouse has announced that Inter-Faith Housing Alliance of Ambler will be the second recipient of proceeds from its Invited Dress Rehearsal Benefit program. The Playhouse will open its doors for the dress rehearsal of its fourth show of the 2005-2006 season, Syncopation, on Thursday, March 9 at 8 PM. Admission is “pay what you can” (suggested donation: $10), and all proceeds will go to Inter-Faith Housing. With strong advance sales for this turn-of-the-century love story, centered on ballroom dancing, Act II Playhouse will continue its community outreach program whereby local Ambler area non-profits will benefit from such dress rehearsals. “The Playhouse looks forward to continuing to support the good efforts of other non-profit organizations within the Borough—and building good will within our community,” says David-Michael Kenney, Act II Playhouse’s Managing Director. “We are pleased to be able to assist a worthwhile organization such as Inter-Faith.” “Having one non-profit work to help another organization shows me that the community spirit is definitely alive and well in Ambler,” adds Inter-Faith Program Director Lois Bowman. Inter-Faith Housing Alliance is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization established in 1982 as a response to the emergency needs of homeless and low-income families in Montgomery County, PA. Services include homelessness prevention, temporary shelter, guidance in life skills, and assistance in locating appropriate housing opportunities. Syncopation, by Allan Knee, opens with preview performances March 10-16 (opening night is March 17) and runs through April 9. The show is sponsored by the June and Steve Wolfson Family Foundation, and the 2005-06 season is sponsored by Sunrise Assisted Living of Dresher, PA. This production stars Lenny Haas and Erin Weaver, and Harriet Power is the director. For performance times, contact the box office at 215-654-0200 or go to www.act2.org.
