For Immediate Release: February 13, 2006
Media Contact: Alexandria Dilks Pandola, Green Light Theatrical Productions, 215.681.0211

Once upon a time, we believed. We believed in fairies and trolls, in good and evil, in adventure and magic. Then we forgot. For one night, believe again.

March 21st-31st at The Playground at The Adrienne Theatre, 2030 Sansom Street in Philadelphia. Tickets $10-15 and can be purchased at www.GreenLightPlays.com or by calling 215-681-0211.

Be Lie Ve uses fairy and folk tales of cultures from around the world to inspire a piece that explores the beauty of belief, and the emptiness left behind by faith once broken.

Imagine a world rich with magic, evil, heroism and adventure. This is the world as it was, now fading to make way for a world of reason and fact. Pushed to the boundaries of reality, the lost souls of tales no longer told have taken to the road. By the side of what could be any path, they gather by chance at a simple campsite. There can be no more traveling done tonight, and, as they wait for dawn to come, strong drinks and full pipes are passed around and each traveler shares a story to fight off the chill of the dark. When the morning light breaks through at last, each must press on. But there is no place for these discarded heroes, magi and gypsies to go. Each must make choice; forever wander the never-lands, fade forever with rest of their kin before them or press on deeper into the un-returnable unknown.

Original music mixes with traditional dance to make a night of theater where each moment is as unique and stylistically varied the backgrounds of the tales and tellers. Sometimes joyful, other times heart breaking, the stories of Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, the ancient Celtic, Arabian, Norwegian and Indian cultures meld together to fashion a realm where anything and anybody can happen by. Built within the ensemble, the over-lining narrative echoes with bedtime stories we know and tales we have forgotten.
