The Ritz Theatre Company Presents Our Town For Immediate Release: February 13, 2006 The Ritz Theatre Company's production of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize winning play "Our Town," runs March 9 through April 8, 2006, at the historic Ritz Theatre, located at 915 White Horse Pike, Arts District, Haddon Township, NJ. The award winning play examines the events that shape the lives of two families in a New Hampshire village in the early part of the 20th century. A boy and a girl meet as teenagers and succumb to adolescent affections before maturing, marrying, and having a child of their own. The compelling drama shares the idea that one should treasure life's simple pleasures. Thornton Wilder's intent, or at least the directors interpretation of that intent, was to create a piece of theatre that was universal, a story all could relate to. A story that was for all towns of all people. Thornton Wilder's T own and the reality of "Our Town" differ in their completion. It is our intent to remain true to the universality of Thornton Wilder's piece by creating a new and exciting look for "Our Town." Stage Manager, the all-wise narrator is being played by Damien Wallace of Philadelphia and Pat De Fusco of Philadelphia. Dr. and Mrs. Gibbs, a small town physician and his wife are played by Monroe Barrick of Philadelphia and Denise George of Runnemede. George Gibbs, their son, is played Jerrell Henderson of Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Webb, a news editor and his wife are played by Mike Bracken of Haddonfield and Tanesha M. Ford of Willingboro. Emily Webb, their daughter, is played by Marie Howey of Cherry Hill. The production is being directed by Ritz Producing Artistic Director, Bruce A. Curless of Haddon Heights. Costume design is by Trish Reichfeld of Voorhees. Set design by Bart Healy of Collingswood. Sound design by John Zettlemoyer of Audubon. Lighting design by Russell McClesky of Morrisville, PA.
