As the curtain went down on the final performance of the Peter Cook and Dudley Moore play “Good Evening” at Act II Playhouse on October 16 it also marked the end of a unique fund raiser that raised over $3600 for recent Hurricane victims.

The funds were collected from theatre-goers at the conclusion of every performance as stars Tony Braithwaite and Chris Faith stood at the rear of the Ambler, PA theatre and accepted donations and plaudits from the audience.

Donations have been sent to the Disaster Relief Funds at he Actor’s Fund, The Humane Society and Autism Cares. These organizations were chosen because of their importance to the cast and staff at the theatre and because they wanted to help those in the entertainment industry affected by the storms, the animals that were orphaned and need care and families who live with Autism and now face unique challenges in the wake of the storm.

Marguerite Price, production stage manager and the person who coordinated the collection efforts at the Playhouse, said “We sincerely whish to thank all of those patrons and friends of Act II for their generous support of this fund drive.”
