Two Sessions in Summer 2005 • Session I: Monday, June 20 - Saturday, June 25 • Session II: Monday, July 11 - Saturday, July 16

Arden Theatre Company announces Summer Theatre Camp for Kids. This summer, two separate week-long sessions will be offered for kids in grades 1-5. Summer Theatre Camp will be taught by some of Philadelphia's most talented and experienced theatre artists. “Our classes are energetic, inclusive and confidence building. We work with kids to ignite their dramatic imagination and to develop their innate performance skills,” says Amy Dugas Brown, Arden's Associate Artistic Director, who spearheads the program, now in its second year.

Action-packed days will include acting classes, creative design classes, and rehearsal time. With an energetic approach to acting, classes will focus on voice, movement, character, improvisation, and Shakespeare. Design classes include both scenic design, where kids learn how designers build the sets, and costume design, where kids learn the whole process from rendering to completing a costume piece of their own. Kids enjoy a full week of theatre while rehearsing a surprise for parents to be presented at the end of the week.

Summer camp meets daily from 11am to 4pm at Arden Theatre Company, located at 40 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia. Tuition for the week is $300. Participants can register online at www.ardentheatre.org or by calling the box office at (215) 922-1122.
