Arden Theatre Company Announces 2005 Spring Salons

Arden Theatre Company announces the schedule for its 2005 Spring Salons. Salons are a fun and social exploration of a variety of theatre topics featuring talented and experienced theatre professionals as guest speakers. Led by the Arden's Associate Artistic Director, Amy Dugas Brown, salons originated in the spring of 2003 and were an instant hit with patrons and professionals alike. They are now a regular part of the Arden's season programming.
Salons are $25 each, three for $70 or four for $80. In addition to the discussion, the price includes wine, coffee and hors d'oeuvres. Salons are held at Arden Theatre Company, 40 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia. Participants can register online at www.ardentheatre.org or by calling the Arden box office at 215.922.1122.

Featured speakers: Tony Braithwaite and Jennifer Childs. How do comic actors get us rolling in the aisles? Learn from two comic masters how to crack comedy's code.
- The Art of the One-Person Show
Monday, March 21 from 6-7:30pm
Featured speakers: Catharine Slusar and Tom McCarthy. What does it feel like to conquer a one-person show? Alone on stage, taking an audience through a complex journey. Join The Syringa Tree star Catharine Slusar and Philly Fan Tom McCarthy as they share ideas, thoughts, and unbelievable stories about their one-person shows.

Monday, April 11 from 6-7:30pm
Featured speakers: Ben Dibble and Mary Martello. Acting is difficult enough, but how does adding music to the mix up the ante? Mary Martello and Ben Dibble – two of Philadelphia's leading musical theatre performers – chat about acting through song. A piano player will join us so Mary and Ben can treat us to many musical examples!

Monday, May 2 from 6-7:30pm
Featured speakers: Amy Dugas Brown and Greg Wood. No job interview is as bizarre as an audition. Philadelphia favorite Greg Wood and Associate Artistic Director (and casting director) Amy Dugas Brown will reveal the daunting process from both sides of the table.
- Sneak-Peek Sweeney Todd!
Monday, May 23 from 6-7:30pm
Featured speaker: Glenn Perlman. Featuring some of the bloodiest tricks in musical theatre history, the Sweeney Todd set will be sure to stun. Be the first to see the set in all its gory glory as technical director Glenn Perlman takes you through its construction and execution before the show even opens.

Featured speaker: Terry Nolen. Calling the shots, creating the art – is artistic direction the sexiest job in theatre? Find out from Arden's Producing Artistic Director Terrence J. Nolen.
