SYNOPSIS
Philly Originals: Hearts & Soles features a selection of new short works by Bruce Graham, Michael Hollinger and Arden Kass. A sexy, smart look at the misfirings of human connection, Hearts & Soles explores relationships between lovers, friends and family and will be accompanied by a series of readings and talkbacks featuring the best of Philadelphia playwriting past, present and future.
PLAYWRIGHT
Bruce Graham is the Barrymore Award-nominated author of Theatre Exile hits Belmont Avenue Social Club, Burkie, and The Philly Fan. His play Coyote on a Fence was the winner of the Rosenthal Prize and recently opened on London's West End starring Ben Cross. Michael Hollinger’s plays include Opus, Red Herring, Incorruptible, and Tooth and Claw. Hollinger is a two-time Barrymore Award winner for Best New Play and the recipient of the Roger L. Stevens Award from the Kennedy Center's Fund for New American Plays. Critics have dubbed Arden Kass "a vastly underrated Philadelphia playwright." Kass is also an independent producer of her own work, which includes three short pieces of interdisciplinary theatre. Her work in television includes directing three rock documentaries for A&E.
