Shakespeare in Clark Park (SCP) was formed by local theatre professionals Marla Burkholder, Maria Moller, Tom Reing and Whitney Estrin in the fall of 2005 with the mission of bringing free productions of Shakespeare's plays to one of Philadelphia's most beautiful and community-driven parks. SCP's first production, Twelfth Night, was presented for four performances August 3-6, 2006. Over 2000 people attended Twelfth Night. Shakespeare in Clark Park is now in its fifth year and employs more than 20 local artists and technicians each summer to produce exciting free theater for one of the largest audiences of the Philadelphia theater season.
