Organization Description

The Kelsey Theatre is an intimate 383-seat theatre located on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College with lighted secured parking right next door. We present year-round a season of full-length family and adult events which are a combination of community theater shows, professional booked in events, student shows and The Kelsey Players. We also offer a full season of one-hour Kelsey Kids events which are mostly professional touring companies mixed in with some community theater productions. We also have extensive educational programming. Home of Tomato Patch Workshops, Central NJ's premiere multi-disciplinary summer arts workshops in theater, dance, vocal music, visual art and video production for students in grades 5 thru 12- now in it's 39th year! During the school year we also offer Kelsey Kids Playshops - Creative Theatre Workshops for students in K thru 7th grade. And of course we work with MCCC Theatre, Dance and Entertainment Tech majors usually twice a year.

Organization Mission:

The Kelsey Theatre’s goal is tri-fold – 1. To serve the community by offering a diverse series of arts events, suitable for the whole family, aimed at expanding young people’s awareness of the arts of many cultures, the accessibility of classic literature and the many different forms of performing arts. 2. To educate the college students and staff by providing exposure to many different genres of theatre and affording them the opportunity to produce theatre themselves; in addition to working with more experienced semi-professional and professional performers and directors 3 To support the theatre community by providing serious and meaningful performance opportunities necessary to their development as artists. Mercer County Community College is very, very supportive of these goals.
