Festival Blog Intern, Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe

(Posted 7/14/2011) The Festival Blog Intern will work with the Blog Manager to write and post stories, photos, and video about the Festival, its performances and events, and its artists. The Festival Blog is read by tens of thousands of people in the months leading up to the Festival.

RESPONSIBILITIES may include: writing and publishing items about summer events featuring Festival artists; writing and publishing feature stories about Festival artists and performances; locating and sharing video of artists' current or past performances; assisting with the production of audio slideshows or video featuring Festival artists; promoting blog posts using Festival and artist social media presences.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will enjoy writing and reporting, and will have a strong command of grammar and style. Past experience working on student newspapers, literary magazines, or other publications is desirable; the work is more akin to journalism than marketing. Preferred candidates will have some familiarity with Philadelphia and its arts and cultural organizations, comfort with content management systems and basic HTML, and the ability to effectively use search engines and social media. Unpaid internship, available for college credit. Dates: July through September (candidates available through the Festival are preferred). Hours: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
