(Posted 10/31/11) Pig Iron seeks an intern to serve as the Assistant to the Artistic Director during the 2011-2012 season.  This individual will work with Co-Artistic Director Dan Rothenberg on logistical issues related to the development, production, and touring of Pig Iron's original work.  The position will be primarily concerned with correspondence, organizing materials, production support, and scheduling.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of theatrical production and administration, and should be effective oral and written communicators who want to assist with the creation of innovative works of theatre.  This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in theatre administration and artistic leadership.

Now in its 16th year, Pig Iron Theatre Company is an OBIE award-winning, interdisciplinary ensemble company dedicated to the creation of new performance works.  The Assistant to the AD will work alongside Pig Iron's staff of six, and will report directly to Mr. Rothenberg.
The Assistant to the Artistic Director will work between 12 and 18 hours per week, with some flexibility built into the schedule; some work can be accomplished from home.  The position is unpaid, although out-of-town travel will be reimbursed.
