(Posted 7/14/2011) Equity Principle Auditions for JACOB AND JACK, by James Sherman at Montgomery Theater, Monday, August 29 from 1 to 9pm. Tom Quinn is the director. Appointment only. Non-union seen if time permits. Please come prepared with a short comic monologue and also bring a picture and resume, stapled together, even if you have sent one. Equity members without appointments will be seen throughout the day as time permits. The following 6 available parts (NOTE: Each role is a dual role. First listing is current day. Second listing is year 1935) will be considered for 3 AEA contracts:
Jack/Jacob: Leading character man. 40’s to 50’s. Jack is a modern day commercial actor who has a certain name recognition. Is one who is more comfortable in front of a camera than on the stage. A descendent of Jacob. Jacob, on the other hand, is a ground breaking, top rated professional stage actor with strong public recognition as a stage star, particularly in the Yiddish theatre world.
Ted/Abe: Ted is Jack’s Business Manager (present day). Abe is Jacob’s Stage Manager (in 1935).
Don/Moishe: Don is Jack’s Stage Manager (present day). 20’s. Moishe is a young actor of the Yiddish Theatre (1935).
Robin/Rachel: Robin is the modern ingenue. 20’s. Rachel is the 1935 Yiddish Theatre ingenue.
Esther/Hannah: Esther is Jack’s mother. Hannah is Rachel’s mother.
Lisa/Leah: Lisa is Jack’s wife. Leah is Jacob’s wife.
Jacob and Jack runs 11/17/11 thru 12/10/11. First rehearsal: 10/25/11.
