September 21, 2010 thru October 4, 2010... The Philly Urban Theatre Festival is a three week celebration of theatrical expression by a cross section of African American playwrights and performing artists. It provides both a launch pad and exhibition space for the next generation of plays and their creators to ensure the continued vitality of America's greatest art form. With an inclusive perspective, this festival showcases theatrical works that echo the true spirit of urban life and a generation whose lives defy categorizing along conventional lines.
