Fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiance Arlene Wyniarski are a couple of innocents who are suddenly swept up in the whirlwind of the New York theatre scene when one of Jerry’s plays is optioned for a Broadway production. It’s a young author’s dream. Or is it his nightmare? Everyone involved knows exactly what the play needs in order to make it a hit. The lead actor wants his lines rewritten. The lead actress would be more comfortable with more jokes, and maybe a song. If only Jerry had listened when the director said, “don’t talk to the actors.”
